Peter Wilamoski

Investments

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me on a long, slow run followed by an enormous breakfast that includes chorizo or biscuits and gravy.

I’d like to be remembered as someone who can be counted on, a good listener, empathetic, approachable, fair, disciplined, thoughtful and adventurous.

I want to learn to play the saxophone.

The favorite thing about my career is getting paid to learn how the world works!

The job that has taught me the most about people was either working my way through college as a waiter or my job as a garbage man.

My proudest accomplishment would definitely be getting my daughter through high school and into college as a reasonably well adjusted, inquisitive, independent thinking young adult, and completing my Ph.D. Both were really hard.

If I could do anything for a day, I’d star in a Broadway musical, do stand-up at a comedy club or perform open heart surgery.

Background:

Peter has nearly 20 years of experience in investment research and portfolio management.  Before beginning his career in finance, he spent nearly a decade as a Professor of Economics in the Albers School of Business at Seattle University where he taught international trade and finance, macroeconomics and courses on Chinese economic and business reform, while also publishing research on emerging markets issues.

Prior to joining Caprock, Peter worked at Russell Investments where he focused on emerging markets issues as well as evaluating tactical asset allocation and quantitative-based investment strategies.  He later joined the Threshold Group, the Russell family office to oversee its investment research and help manage the portfolios of endowments and foundations.  Peter earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oregon.
