Gregory Brown

Client Advisor, Investments

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me wandering around the house with a cup of coffee, wearing a tool belt doing home projects with my son and our dog. We are attracted to most power tools, occasionally make wood furniture, and are regularly asked to kill spiders.

Some of my best skills on the job are my ability to be rational and objective. I can review an opportunity or a challenge and in short order get to the meat of the issue. Clients appreciate my willingness to be direct and transparent with my opinions, even when I know it might not match theirs. I have reviewed hundreds of private investments and use this experience to help navigate the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Clients often appreciate the idea that some of our best decisions are the investments we avoid.

Among my little-known talents, I am the drummer in a classic rock and blues cover band. We play for free to help local schools, charities and friends raise money and have fun. Our typical set list spans more than 40 years of music.

I am most proud of Caprock for the incredible way in which we look out for clients when no one is watching. We work hard for clients and go to battle for them at every turn. Clients never have to guess who we’re representing. Unlike so much of our industry, the reality of what we do exceeds the marketing.

If my daily clock had 28 hours, I would cook at least one meal a day for family and friends, dream up more life skills to teach my kids, blow the dust off my golf clubs, go fly fishing, ski more, take in more live music, and host a regular cocktail hour for friends.

If I had a personal motto, it would be: Enjoy life! This is not a rehearsal.
